Strategic Plan Feedback

In recent decades, strategic planning has paved the way for Penn State’s remarkable ascension among the ranks of the world’s great research universities. As we continue to move forward, our new strategic plan will lead to even greater achievements. During the past year, the University Strategic Planning Council has been working diligently to identify and articulate the University’s priorities and goals for 2016-2020. After considerable research and collegial debate, the Council developed a draft plan that was broadly circulated for feedback.

At its heart, strategic planning comes down to intentionality. In this plan, we identify our goals at a macro level and set a strong foundation for their pursuit. Once the high-level strategies are unveiled, the University will begin to articulate specific steps, responsibilities, and metrics for implementation.

The deadline to submit feedback has now passed.  We appreciate the input that was provided by the University community, and are working to incorporate that feedback into a revised version of the plan.

Thank you very much for your opinions regarding this critically important and challenging work.

Sincerely,

Nicholas P. Jones

Executive Vice President and Provost, The Pennsylvania State University
