Penn State Institutional Research Interest Group
Building Institutional Research Capacity
Monday, April 11, 2011
Mike Dooris (Office of Planning and Institutional Assessment)
Betty Harper (Student Affairs Research and Assessment)
Frank Miller (Penn State York)
Marta Miguel (Information Technology Services)
The Penn State Institutional Research Interest group is guided by the belief that although there are many excellent data and analysis resources at Penn State, the University can do a better job of communication, collaboration, and sharing in the increasingly pertinent domain of institutional research. Our goal is to help those who produce, analyze, and use data for planning and decision-making to do so more effectively. Topics already suggested include, for example, student surveys and analyses (PULSE, NSSE, student satisfaction); research on student transitions and success; research on student/faculty/staff use of wikis and blogs; resources such as Factbook Plus, the common data set, and IPEDS; Business Intelligence project updates and demonstrations; and Commonwealth Campus IR challenges and solutions.
To register for this free event, please call the Office of Planning and Institutional Assessment at (814) 863-8721 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Penn State campuses interested in participating via Adobe Connect may do so as well; please make that request when you register. The Penn State IR Interest Group welcomes participation by any interested faculty members, staff, administrators, or students.
