To document the current processes in each of the Special Collections units and the Special Collections Team in the Cataloging and Metadata Services department and identify ways to make these processes more similar, more collaborative, more efficient, and more effective.

Identify which ideas to implement and develop implementation plans. Review measures that could be used to determine if process improvements are making things better. Determine future initiatives.

The Special Collections Unit Heads met with Barbara Sherlock from the Office of Planning and Institutional Assessment to begin the process. The entire group has worked with Barbara Sherlock for a total of 8.5 hours and will have one final two-hour meeting in May. Each area has documented its processes and identified ways of making the processes more similar, collaborative, efficient, and effective. The group has also determined which ideas to implement, developed implementation plans, reviewed measures, and identified future initiatives. Implementation of process improvements has begun and measures will be reviewed and discussed at the meeting in May.
