Department files were in disarray and it was difficult to cover for someone who was out or when there was turnover. Also, there was a shared network drive, but shared files were hard to locate. The poor organization led to multiple copies of the same files, individuals keeping on their hard drives copies of files that were to be shared, and general chaos.

We are using this project for two purposes. One purpose is to expose staff to the continuous quality improvement model. The second purpose is to develop a naming convention for all department filing systems and to apply the conventions to existing and future files. 3/28/2007
