This team took on the task of examining current workflow processes in order to determine how the unit could move to a more team centered design strategy and infuse creative ideas into our design process. The team ended up recommending a new workflow process to better meet the needs of the innovative course design initiative. Based on the new workflow the team then had to revise the organization structure and then proceed to implement the changes over the next 12 months.

As a result of the acceptance of the new workflow process and reorganization the team has worked to introduce a new project management system, to help the staff track the completion of new work assignments; and has instituted several staff training events and traing documents to help the staff transition to the new organization and workflow. The end product of the new workflow process is a differentiation in tasks that will allow the unit to efficiently and effectively offer over 200 repeat online courses each semester, while allowing the new course design teams to focus on integrating new innovations into our online courses. The change in workflow and organization structure has resulted in a more team driven design and production process.
