The Office of Human Resources (OHR) has redesigned its approach for Staff Recruitment, which includes a new website, recruitment materials, and comprehensive advertising campaign. It is the first ever of its nature for OHR. The new campaign features a theme of “Opportunities… Limitless as Penn State”, and seeks to increase both the diversity of applicants to Penn State, as well as the overall quantity and quality. OHR is proactively anticipating the projected labor shortage in skilled workers over the next 5 - 10 years with increased efforts to market Penn State as a great place to work.

The campaign was launched in January 2007. We are hoping to experience an increase in the number of candidates to all staff job vacancies, as well as an increase in the number of qualified minority candidates. Measures planned include number of candidates per job, number of minority candidates per job, sampling of qualifications of candidates, number of views on website, and changes in hiring statistics, such as number of minority hires by grade or competency level.
