Mike Dooris is the Executive Director of the Office of Planning and Institutional Assessment, reporting to the Executive Vice President and Provost and supporting University-level planning and decision-making. Mike previously served as the Director of Planning Research and Assessment in the Office, and is also an affiliate associate professor in the College of Education’s Higher Education Program. He has been at Penn State since 1981 in a variety of positions, including in the University budget office and in undergraduate education. Early in his career he worked as a statistician at the U.S. Census Bureau and in industry. He has consulted on strategic planning and institutional research in Europe, Africa, and the United States and was a CIC Academic Leadership Fellow in 1997-98. In 2010 he completed a Fulbright fellowship in Brazil. Mike has a Ph.D. in higher education from Penn State, an M.B.A from the University of Rhode Island, and a B.S. in economics from Penn State.
